Doncaster 150 event 2003

Saturday 26th July 2003 was the first day of DONCASTER PLANT 150, an event organized to celebrate Doncaster's 150 years of association with the railways. The event was excellent, with splendid displays of Locomotives, Steam, Diesel, and Electric. The weather was good in the morning, so I concentrated on the Diesel and Electric section, and took a variety of photos. It took great patience, and sometimes up to 15 or 20 minutes per photo, to obtain a reasonably clear view of the locomotives. By the time I got to the Steam locomotives, it was overcast and crowded, so I was less successful. But I thoroughly enjoyed the event.
The Photographs below are divided into three sections. Diesel & Electric Locomotives, Steam Locomotives, and General Scenes.

In mid afternoon, I made my way back to Doncaster station in good time to catch a 156 to Sheffield, a HST to Derby, and finally a 170 back to Tamworth. The tight connections worked perfectly, and the journey was considerably more comfortable than the outward Voyager.
