Ffestiniog Railway 2003

The selection of pictures below features the smaller locomotives that were to be seen on the FFESTINIOG RAILWAY during 2003: The first 2 pictures were taken on a bleak March day, the next 6 at the INTERACTIVE WEEKEND which was held over the the 3rd to the 5th May 2003, the  May day weekend. An added attraction was Stanhope, a visiting engine from the West Lancashire Railway, which, paired with Lilla, worked the Up Slate train. They made a fine combination. The final 8 pictures were taken on 15th and 16th August, when  Lilla worked a  passenger shuttle between Porthmadog and Minffordd, and Prince took a Slate train up to Rhiw Goch, from whence it returned by gravity. The Welsh Highland Railway section from Waunfawr to Rhyd Ddu was due to open to passengers on Monday the 18th, and the Ffestiniog put on a "Mini Gala" to add to the occasion.
