Excellent running as far as Welshpool meant an On
Time departure. But the down Cambrian Coast Express
was running in two portions, both of them late. So
we had a 4 min stop at Briedden, and a 12 min stop
at Westbury, which put us 20 mins late approaching
Shrewsbury, and we followed, rather than preceded, the
3.30pm Shrewsbury-Wolverhampton stopper. Checks ensued
all the way to Wolverhampton, arrival 52 mins late.
